Park Vysokiy Zamok, Historical park on Castle Hill in Lviv, Ukraine.
Park Vysokiy Zamok is a green space on a hill in Lviv that spans two levels connected by paths and planted areas. The place offers different viewpoints and walking routes that guide visitors through the grounds.
The park began to take shape from 1835 when a city gardener started developing the hillside and incorporating old fortification remains. During the 1800s, an artificial mound was added to commemorate a historical event.
The upper area was designed as a memorial space where visitors can still see old stone figures sourced from historic buildings. These elements display the coats of arms of local families and connect the past to the place in a tangible way.
The park is reachable on foot or by car via a street on the south or west side of the hill, with parking available near the entrance area. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes as the ground is uneven and has various elevation changes.
A hidden grotto in the park houses artfully crafted stone figures sourced from a former city building. This unexpected discovery shows how historical elements were preserved within nature.
