Novoselivka

Novoselivka is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine situated on relatively flat terrain at an elevation of approximately 80 meters. The community features residential areas alongside industrial zones and mining operations that have shaped its structure and economy.

The settlement was founded in 1938 and initially developed around silk production activities in the Slobidska Ukraine region. The discovery of quartz sand deposits later shifted the local economy toward mining operations.

The community centers serve as gathering places where residents engage with local crafts and traditions through regular events and meetings. These spaces reflect how people in the settlement maintain social connections and share their daily lives.

Access to the settlement is easiest via the main roads connecting it to larger regional cities. Visitors should expect an industrial setting with active mining operations visible in the surrounding area.

The area has been home to quartz sand mining for many decades, an extractive industry that few visitors realize shaped the local economy. This mining activity left its mark on the settlement's landscape and how it was built.
