Kotovskoho Settlement

Kotovskoho is a residential district in northern Odesa that covers much of the Peresypskyi area. The neighborhood contains apartment buildings and single-family homes spread across a large area, connected mainly by a tramway network.

The settlement originated from a farmstead called Kyselivka in 1928 and received its current name in 1956 when the municipality began distributing land for private construction. This renaming reflected the shift from agricultural land to planned residential development.

The district houses a photo gallery where residents have contributed images documenting neighborhood changes since the 1960s. Visitors can see through these photographs how the area and daily life have transformed over the decades.

The district is served primarily by tramway connections to central Odesa, making it easy to reach from other parts of the city. A tramway journey provides the main way to explore the area and travel beyond it.

A monument to cosmonaut Georgiy Dobrovolskiy stands as the only memorial in this residential district. This landmark honors a Soviet space explorer and provides a striking historical reminder amid the residential buildings around it.
