The settlement was founded in 1935 and later underwent administrative reorganization when it transferred from Biliaivka Raion to Odesa Raion in 2020. This change reflected shifting territorial arrangements in the broader region.
The population of 914 residents represents a linguistic mix, with 61 percent speaking Russian and 37 percent communicating in Ukrainian as their primary language.
