Luzanivka, Recreational locality in Peresypskyi Raion, Odesa, Ukraine.
Luzanivka is a coastal locality in the Peresypskyi Raion of Odesa, sitting along the shore of the Gulf of Odesa on a low, flat strip of land bordered by sandy beach. The area lies between the Mykolaiv Road and the waterfront, with open ground that gives direct access to the sea.
During the Soviet period, the locality was renamed after the revolutionary Grigory Kotovsky, and that name still appears on some older maps. Before that, the area had already developed as a seaside retreat for people from Odesa.
Luzanivka draws families and young people from Odesa throughout the summer, filling the shore with a relaxed, social energy. Simple kiosks, beach chairs, and small food stalls along the waterfront reflect the everyday beach culture of the Ukrainian Black Sea coast.
The beach has a gentle slope into the water, which makes it easy for children and less confident swimmers to enter the sea. Visiting outside the peak summer weeks means fewer people and more space along the shore.
Native oleaster shrubs grow side by side with planted goldenrain trees, a mix of wild and introduced vegetation that is unusual for a Ukrainian beach resort. Even visitors who are not looking for it tend to notice the contrast between the two types of plants along the paths.
