Вакуленці, Residential area in Podilskyi District, Ukraine
Vakulentsi is a residential area along the left bank of the Vorskla River on the northeastern edge of Poltava. The settlement is marked by one and two-story houses that make up most of the buildings here.
The village was officially incorporated into Poltava's city limits in 1988 through a decree by the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. This annexation connected the rural village to the city during the Soviet period.
The settlement is divided into two distinct parts: an older eastern section with houses from the original village and a newer western area developed in recent decades. This division shapes how the place looks and shows different building styles side by side.
Two bus routes connect the area to central Poltava and make it easy for visitors to reach and explore. The flat terrain along the river makes getting around straightforward.
The northern section of the western part contains former military training grounds that once belonged to the Poltava Higher Military Command School of Communications. These abandoned grounds are a quiet reminder of the city's Soviet military past.
