The museum features a collection of 12,000 exhibits, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects spanning from the 16th century to modern times.
Founded in 1988, the museum moved to its current location in 1991, occupying a former bank building constructed in 1900 in Art Nouveau style.
The permanent exhibition displays fine and religious art of Bukovyna, along with regional ornamental art from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Located at 10 Central Square, the museum offers guided tours and maintains special exhibitions showcasing works from different artistic periods.
The building's facade contains a polychrome Majolica panel with mythological representations connecting the Roman and Austro-Hungarian empires.
