The cathedral features six domes and stands on the left bank of the Kalmius River at Voiniv-Vyzvolyteliv Street in central Mariupol.
The cathedral was officially registered as part of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1946, following World War II, with its current structure built between 1989 and 1991.
The interior contains the revered copy of the Mother of God 'Mariupol' icon and relics of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Saint Ignatius of Mariupol.
The cathedral complex includes facilities for Sunday school education, baptism ceremonies, and support services for community members in need.
Local artisans crafted the cathedral's entire iconostasis, demonstrating the involvement of Mariupol's community in creating this religious monument.
