Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera, Maritime cargo terminal in Mykolaiv, Ukraine.
Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera is a cargo port on the Southern Bug River near Mykolaiv, in southern Ukraine. It has several berths and large storage areas designed to handle bulk goods such as grain, ore, and similar commodities.
The port opened in 1995, shortly after Ukrainian independence, when the country began building its own trade infrastructure along the Black Sea. It was developed on a site that already had some industrial use from the Soviet period.
The port takes its name partly from "Nika," a word associated with victory, and partly from "Tera," a reference to its location near the Tyligulskyi estuary area. Passing cargo ships flying flags from many different countries are a common sight from the riverbank nearby.
The port is an active industrial facility and is not open to the public without prior authorization. Those who want to see the area from the outside can walk along the Southern Bug riverbank nearby.
The port has its own internal railway network connected directly to the national rail system, allowing cargo to move between ship and train without extra handling. This makes it one of the few facilities in the region with a true multimodal connection.
