The prince's house in Novyi Svit is a single-story stone building that blends Moorish elements with classical lines, featuring high ceilings and wooden railings on the terrace. It holds seven exhibition halls displaying craftsmanship, old wine-making items, and period furniture from the 19th century.
The prince purchased the land in 1878 and established the estate two years later to conduct wine production on an industrial scale. This was among the first attempts to make wine in large quantities in southern Russia.
The house bears the prince's name and displays how wealthy Russians lived and entertained in the 19th century. The rooms are furnished with period pieces and personal objects that reflect the daily rhythm of that era.
The building sits at the edge of the village and is easily reached on foot, though pathways are unpaved. Visits are possible year-round, but the warmer months offer the best access to all rooms and cellars.
The cellar contains a vaulted chamber with special niches built for storing rare bottles, and includes a fireplace designed to regulate moisture. This underground construction shows how thoughtfully wine storage was planned at that time.
