The House-Beehive is a large residential complex in Lutsk that spans across multiple boulevards and consists of many interconnected buildings arranged at distinctive angles. The buildings contain thousands of apartments accessed through numerous entrances positioned throughout the development.
Construction of the complex began in 1969 under architects Vasily Malovitsa and Rostislav Metelnitsky and was completed in 1980. The project reflected Soviet-era architectural thinking and urban planning ideas of that period.
The complex takes its name from the honeycomb-like pattern visible from above, and locals often reference the structure because of its massive scale and unusual layout with distinctive angles.
