Offa's Dyke Path, National Trail across England and Wales border from Sedbury Cliffs to Prestatyn, GB
The path extends for 177 miles through eight different counties, crossing the England-Wales border more than 20 times along its route.
King Offa of Mercia ordered the construction of the original dyke in the 8th century to establish a clear boundary between his kingdom and Welsh territories.
The trail connects numerous medieval castles, ancient churches, and traditional market towns, including the book town of Hay-on-Wye.
The path requires 12 days on average to complete, with multiple accommodation options and transport links available in towns along the route.
The trail reaches its highest point at 2300 feet on Hatterall Ridge within Brecon Beacons National Park, offering views across both countries.
