Ernest Hemingway House, Colonial house museum in Key West, United States

The two-story French Colonial stone mansion features spacious rooms, wraparound balconies, and French doors throughout its interior and exterior spaces.

Built in 1851 by marine captain Tift, the residence remained abandoned for 40 years until Ernest Hemingway and his second wife purchased it in 1931.

The residence served as Hemingway's writing sanctuary, where he produced notable works including For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Snows of Kilimanjaro.

The museum opens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with admission prices of $15 for adults and $6 for children between 6 and 12 years.

The property houses numerous six-toed cats, descendants of Snow White, a polydactyl feline given to Hemingway by a ship captain.
