Redwood County, Administrative county in southern Minnesota, US
Redwood County spans 882 square miles of rolling hills and agricultural land, crossed by the Redwood River and Minnesota River in the northeastern section.
The Minnesota Legislature established Redwood County on February 8, 1862, naming it after the Redwood River that flows through its territory.
The Lower Sioux Indian Reservation maintains Native American traditions along the southern bank of the Minnesota River in Paxton and Sherman townships.
The county operates facilities including a recycling center, health services, parks department, and economic development authority, with headquarters in Redwood Falls.
Five district commissioners represent different sections of the county, meeting regularly at 403 South Mill Street to manage local governance.
