The Prospect Point Park observation tower rises 86 meters above the Niagara Gorge, providing views of both the American and Horseshoe Falls.
The tower was constructed in 1961 at a cost of 1.25 million dollars, replacing the earlier industrial structures that occupied the site from 1870 to 1940.
The observation tower serves as the primary gateway for eight million annual visitors seeking to experience the natural power of Niagara Falls.
Two elevators transport visitors to the observation deck, while additional elevators connect to the Maid of the Mist boat tour loading area at the base.
The aluminum, glass, and steel structure features a pre-cast concrete observation deck that extends directly over the Niagara Gorge.
