Sakura Park, Japanese garden in Morningside Heights, Manhattan, US.
The 2.5-acre park features curved pathways lined with mature linden trees, creating a geometric pattern around a central lawn with cherry trees.
Originally named Claremont Park, the space received 2,500 cherry trees in 1912 from Japanese residents, leading to its renaming as Sakura Park.
The stone lantern at the park's center, presented by Tokyo in 1960, marks the sister-city relationship between New York and Tokyo.
Located between Riverside Church and Grant's Tomb at West 122nd Street, the park offers benches, walking paths, and open spaces for recreation.
During spring, pink and white cherry blossoms create a continuous canopy above the geometric paths, starting with snowdrops and followed by tulips.
