The Palace of Auburn Hills, Indoor sports arena in Auburn Hills, Michigan, US.

The Palace of Auburn Hills was an indoor sports arena in Auburn Hills, Michigan, that featured 180 luxury suites and held a maximum capacity of 22,076 people for basketball games and entertainment events. The arena stood at 6 Championship Drive and offered direct access to major highways, enabling efficient transportation for visitors from surrounding Michigan areas.

The arena opened its doors on August 13, 1988, and served as the home of the Detroit Pistons, an NBA basketball team, until 2017. After the Pistons relocated, the complex was demolished in 2020, following more than three decades as a major venue in the greater Detroit area.

The venue was not only known for basketball but also as an important concert destination in the Detroit region, where international artists performed before thousands of spectators. Many visitors remember the atmosphere of major tours that stopped here and drew audiences from across Michigan.

The site was accessible via several highway exits, making arrival from different parts of Michigan straightforward. Parking lots surrounded the building, allowing visitors to leave their vehicles close to the entrances.

The arena remained among the few NBA venues that never sold naming rights to corporate sponsors during its operational period from 1988 to 2020. The name stayed unchanged for more than three decades, which was rare in American professional sports.
