Whitehall Farm, farm in Miami Township, Ohio

Whitehall Farm is a farmstead built in 1842 in Miami Township featuring Greek Revival architecture. The main house displays tall columns and wide porches typical of this style, along with additional farm buildings set within open agricultural land.

The farm was founded in 1842 and reflects the Greek Revival style popular in the mid-1800s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 to recognize its historical and architectural importance to the region.

Whitehall Farm reflects the rural way of life that shaped this Ohio community for generations. The farmhouse and outbuildings show how families organized their daily work and living spaces around agriculture and self-sufficiency.

The farm is located in a quiet rural area and can be found easily with a map or GPS. Open fields surrounding the site allow visitors to see the historic buildings clearly and walk around the property at their own pace.

In February 1999, a grassroots community effort saved the farm from development when residents of Yellow Springs raised about 1.2 million dollars in just six weeks. Their campaign included concerts, bake sales, and public rallies to protect the land for future generations.
