Knoebels Amusement Resort, Amusement park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, United States.
Knoebels Amusement Resort is an amusement park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, that offers over 60 rides spread across its wooded grounds. The park includes three wooden roller coasters, two haunted house attractions, and several water activities distributed throughout the property.
Henry Knoebel opened a restaurant and a carousel on his family farmland in 1926, laying the foundation for today's resort. The family gradually expanded the offerings with additional rides and attractions over the following decades.
The park follows a traditional early 20th-century layout, with rides scattered among trees and open grassy areas. Families often bring their own picnic blankets and spend the entire day here, resting on benches or under the shade of trees between attractions.
The park does not charge admission, so visitors can either buy individual tickets for specific rides or choose an all-day wristband. The large grounds make comfortable shoes advisable, as there is quite a bit of walking between attractions.
The Grand Carousel from 1913 houses hand-carved figures that still operate today, accompanied by a working music organ. Visitors can sit on the elaborately shaped wooden horses during the ride and hear the sounds of the historical mechanics.
