Indiana Beach

Indiana Beach is an amusement park on Lake Shafer in Indiana with roller coasters, water slides, and carnival games. The facility stretches along the shoreline and offers more than 40 rides for families and thrill seekers.

The park opened in 1926 as a swimming beach on the newly formed Lake Shafer and gradually grew into an amusement park. Over the following decades, rides and entertainment offerings were added step by step.

The park takes its name from the state of Indiana and combines rides with direct access to the lake. Visitors can relax on the beach after attractions or picnic right by the water, a tradition here for decades.

The park typically operates from May through September, with hours varying by day of the week. Arriving early in the day means shorter wait times at the most popular rides.

Some of the roller coasters run partly over the water and give riders the impression they are about to plunge into the lake. The location right on the lake makes it possible to switch between rides and swimming in the lake.
