Second Presbyterian Church, Gothic Revival church in South Loop, Chicago, United States

Second Presbyterian Church is a limestone building in South Loop with a corner tower and high-pitched roof. It sits on South Michigan Avenue at 20th Street and features a rose window on its front facade.

The building was founded in 1874 and underwent major interior work following a fire in 1900. Architect Howard Van Doren Shaw led the renovation that shaped the space you see today.

The stained glass windows inside come from renowned makers like William Morris Company and Tiffany Studios. You will also notice decorative angels throughout the sanctuary that add to its overall character.

The location is easy to reach and sits on a main avenue in central Chicago. Visitors should check in advance for tour availability and visiting hours before planning a visit.

The building is recognized as one of the finest examples of an Arts and Crafts church interior in America. This distinction earned it the status of National Historic Landmark.
