907 Fifth Avenue, Italian Renaissance apartment building on Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, United States.
907 Fifth Avenue is a twelve-story residential building with limestone facades arranged in balanced proportions and ornamental corner details throughout its structure. The design includes 48 apartments organized around a central courtyard that brings light and air to the interior spaces.
Completed in 1915, the building was designed by architect J.E.R. Carpenter and represented a turning point in Manhattan's development. It became the first major apartment complex to replace the private mansions that once lined Fifth Avenue in this neighborhood.
The American Institute of Architects recognized the architectural excellence of 907 Fifth Avenue with a gold medal award in 1916.
The building maintains full-time doorman service and offers on-site amenities including a fitness room, laundry facilities, and a rooftop deck for residents. Its location on Fifth Avenue provides direct access to major cultural institutions and shopping areas nearby.
The largest residence occupied the entire top floor with approximately 25 rooms, designed as a single apartment for a prominent businessman in the 1910s. This exceptional penthouse demonstrated the lavish living standards that early Manhattan apartment buildings could provide to their wealthiest occupants.
