All-America Bridge, Road bridge in Akron, Ohio.
The All-America Bridge crosses the Little Cuyahoga River and carries four traffic lanes for vehicles moving across. The structure rises to about 134 feet (41 meters) and features a separate sidewalk for pedestrian use.
The bridge was constructed between 1981 and 1982, replacing the earlier North Hill Viaduct that had been built in 1922. That older structure closed in 1977 after concrete deterioration made it unsafe for continued use.
The name All-America honors awards that recognized Akron as an outstanding place to live and work. This naming choice reflects the city's pride in its development and the recognition it has earned.
The bridge includes a dedicated sidewalk that provides safe passage for people on foot. Access is straightforward, and the structure remains open to traffic throughout the day.
The bridge underwent a major renovation in 2011 when extensive safety barriers were installed along its length. These improvements made crossing the span significantly safer for all who use it.
