Eagles Temple, Art Deco building in Akron, Ohio, United States.

The Eagles Temple is a downtown Akron building featuring Art Deco characteristics such as geometric forms and ornamental details throughout its exterior and interior spaces. The structure displays the clean lines and decorative elements typical of this architectural style from that era.

The building was designed in 1917 by the architectural firm Boenisch, Kraus, and Helmkamp and later redesigned in 1930 with Art Deco elements. This transformation made it reflect the modern architectural trends of that era.

The temple served as a gathering place where members found both spiritual connection and practical support during difficult times. The building reflected the values of mutual aid that were important to the organization and its community.

Visitors can access the interior through the main entrance and explore the layout and design elements throughout the spaces. Allow time to examine the Art Deco details and take in the architectural features at a comfortable pace.

After its closure, the building housed a Christian youth organization that operated a haunted house attraction until 1974. This unexpected use shows how older structures adapted to serve changing community needs and activities.
