Alumni Hall, University arena building at Fairfield University, US

Alumni Hall is a sports building on the Fairfield University campus with an unusual structure made of eleven large arches of prestressed concrete. These arches span across the entire width and create an open interior space that holds approximately 2,500 people.

The building opened in 1959 and initially served as the home for the university's basketball team. In 2002, the team moved its home games to another location, marking a shift in the building's purpose.

This venue hosted performances across many music genres, from rock and hip-hop to pop music, making it an important stop for touring artists over several decades. The concert history shows how the space served as a gathering point for student-organized events and cultural programs.

The venue is accessible from the campus and has enough space for large events with several thousand visitors. Visitors should arrive early when major events are scheduled, as demand for seats can be high.

The structure with its prestressed concrete arches was a technological feature in the early 1960s and was highlighted in engineering publications for its innovative approach. This construction solution was one of the earliest examples of this modern technique in America at that time.
