Bronson Windmill, Historic windmill in Fairfield, United States.
The eight-sided wooden structure rises 105 feet tall, featuring a polygonal hip roof and rectangular windows that allow natural light inside the building.
Frederic Bronson constructed this windmill between 1893 and 1894 on his Verna Farm estate to pump water from a 75-foot-deep well into a large storage tank.
The windmill represents the agricultural innovation of late 19th-century Connecticut farmers who needed reliable water sources for their expanding agricultural operations.
Located at 3015 Bronson Road, opposite Fairfield Country Day School, the windmill remains visible from public roads for interested visitors to observe.
The structure now functions as a cell phone tower while maintaining its status on the National Register of Historic Places since 1971.
