Barclay House

Barclay House is a Renaissance Revival structure with a three-story brick exterior located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The main residence stands alongside a former carriage house that was later converted into living quarters.

The house was originally designed by architect Addison Hutton in 1866 in the Italianate style. Major renovations in the 1930s significantly transformed its appearance and function.

The house served as a residential home for elderly Quakers, which gave it a meaningful role in the local community for decades. This purpose left an impression on how neighbors understand the building's place in their town.
