Bandana Square, Historic district in Como Park, Saint Paul, US.
Bandana Square is a former railway complex in Saint Paul featuring large brick buildings with original repair shop structures from the industrial era. The buildings preserve wooden beams and train tracks that still mark their railway heritage.
The complex began as a workshop site for the Northern Pacific Railway in the late 1800s. The site later gained National Register status and was converted to office spaces in the early 2000s.
The space has hosted the Dakota Jazz Club and Minnesota Children's Museum at different times, drawing musicians and families to the site. These uses show how the former railway workshops became gathering places for art and learning.
The area is easy to reach on foot and offers parking for visitors to the various facilities. The buildings are well-marked, making it straightforward to find your way around.
The site preserves original railway tracks and wooden structures from the 1890s inside its halls. This preservation lets visitors see the actual workshop conditions from that era.
