Blair's Ferry Storehouse

Blair's Ferry Storehouse is a two-story brick building with a stepped facade and gable roof located near the Tennessee River on Main Street. Multiple rooms fill both floors, including a kitchen, parlor, and storage areas on the lower level.

The building was constructed in the 1830s and served as a commercial warehouse during the growth of riverboat trade at Blair's Ferry settlement. Its construction coincided with a period of increased commerce along the Tennessee River.

The Federal-style architecture shows how river commerce shaped the design of buildings in Tennessee communities during the 1800s. The structure reflects the local economy's dependence on water-based trade and settlement patterns.

The building is accessible from Main Street and can be viewed from outside, with the river location offering clear sightlines from the road. The external porch design requires attention when climbing between floors.

The building maintains its original layout where movement between floors happens only through external porches rather than interior stairways. This unusual design choice reflects its specific purpose as a warehouse.
