Braehead

Braehead is a Greek Revival house in Fredericksburg with nine bays across its front facade and a square main section connected to a two-story kitchen wing. The entire property spans roughly 19 acres and includes outbuildings such as icehouse ruins alongside the main residence.

The house was built in 1858 by George Mullen for John Howison and stands as an example of pre-Civil War architecture. Its construction took place during a time of major political and social change in the region.
