Buhl Farm Golf Course

Buhl Farm Golf Course is a nine-hole golf course in Sharon that stretches across approximately 2,378 yards with straight fairways and flat greens. The terrain is relatively flat and maintains the playing surfaces in good condition for golfers of varying skill levels.

The course was founded in 1914 and designed by city personnel and Ferdinand Garbin. Since its establishment over a century ago, it has served the community as a recreation facility.

The course is known locally by the nickname 'Dum Dum' and draws the community together through regular tournaments and a children's golf program in summer. Players of all ages gather here, making it a gathering place for the town.

The course operates from mid-April through November from dawn to dusk, offering a driving range, practice greens, and club rentals for those who need them. Weather and daylight hours vary seasonally, so planning your visit around these factors can improve your experience.

This is the only free public golf course in the United States, sustained through donations and managed by the Buhl Farm Trust. The free access makes it an unusual resource for golf enthusiasts everywhere.
