Bull Stone House, Historic stone house in Hamptonburgh, US
The Bull Stone House features ten rooms with walls two feet thick and spans forty feet square across its sturdy stone foundation.
William Bull, an English stonemason who arrived in North America in 1715, constructed this residence between 1722 and 1735 with his wife Sarah Wells.
The property contains the graves of William Bull and Sarah Wells, who established the first European settler marriage in Goshen during 1718.
The house opens for guided tours through advance reservations, allowing visitors to examine the architectural features of early American stone construction.
Nine generations of the same family have continuously occupied this stone residence since its construction, maintaining direct lineage to the original builders.
