Burnett's Corner, Connecticut
Burnett's Corner, Connecticut, Historic district in Groton, United States.
The 45-acre Burnett's Corner Historic District features 30 contributing buildings and three sites along the former Post Road in Connecticut.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, this crossroads village served as a stagecoach stop on the route connecting New York City to Boston.
The district contains numerous examples of Colonial and Greek Revival architecture, including the Pequot Hotel constructed around 1842.
Visitors can access the historic buildings along Packer Road, which follows the path of the former Groton and Stonington Turnpike.
A witch hazel mill established by T. N. Dickinson, Jr. in 1907 marked the district's transition from transportation hub to manufacturing center.
