Carolines on Broadway

Carolines on Broadway is a comedy club in Times Square featuring a showroom with about 280 seats where guests enjoy live performances while dining. The venue at 750 Seventh Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets offers food and beverage service throughout the shows.

The club was founded in 1981 when Caroline Hirsch opened it in Chelsea, with Jay Leno performing as the first comedian at the opening. It later moved to its current Times Square location and became an established venue for live comedy.

The club presents different styles of stand-up comedy from emerging talents to established performers throughout the week. Audiences gather here to experience live comedy in its most direct form, with the energy and unpredictability that comes from being in the room when a joke lands.

It is recommended to reserve seats in advance to ensure you get a spot for the show. Keep in mind that there is a two-item minimum per person from the food and drink menu.

The club served as the basis for the television series Carolines Comedy Hour, which became known for excellent comedy programming. This series brought the best performances from the venue directly to screens and helped launch the careers of many comedians.
