Edison Theatre

The Edison Theatre was a performance venue in Midtown Manhattan with approximately 540 seats located in the Hotel Edison building on West 47th Street. The space accommodated productions of various sizes and styles during its theatrical years.

The space originated as a hotel ballroom in 1931 and was converted into a theatre in 1950, serving as a Broadway performance venue for several decades. In 1991 it returned to its original function, closing its theatrical chapter.

The space hosted diverse theatrical productions that contributed to Broadway's performance culture during its active years. These shows attracted audiences seeking different types of entertainment, from comedy to drama to experimental works.
