Central Theatre, Theatre venue in Manhattan, US
Located at 1567 Broadway at the corner of 47th Street, Central Theatre contained approximately 1,100 seats within its Art Deco architectural design.
Herbert J. Krapp designed this Broadway theatre in 1918 for the Shubert family on the former location of the Mathushek & Son piano factory.
The first production at Central Theatre was 'Forever After' by Owen Davis, followed by numerous musicals including works from Rodgers and Hart.
The theatre included wheelchair accessible facilities, provided street parking options, and maintained adjacent parking lots for visitors attending performances.
After serving as a theatre venue, the building transformed into different establishments including Club USA before its demolition in 1998.
