Chickasaw State Park

Chickasaw State Park is a recreation area on elevated terrain in West Tennessee featuring lakes, forests, and various activity spaces. The landscape covers about 1,400 acres with diverse habitats and recreational facilities.

The area became an official Tennessee recreation region in 1955 and was developed during the New Deal with many structures built by workers. This infrastructure created the foundation for the park today.

The name honors the Chickasaw Nation, who lived across this region before European settlement arrived. The land remains culturally significant to their descendants today.

The park offers various lodging options including RV sites with utilities, tent camping spaces, and small cabins for small groups. Exploring the grounds is easy on foot or by car.

A special area called Wrangler Campground offers dedicated sites for travelers with horses. These equestrian camping spots include water and electrical hookups for added comfort.
