Delta Lake State Park, State park in Rome, United States.
Delta Lake State Park is a public recreation area with over 700 acres of forests, hiking trails, and recreational facilities along the southeastern shore of Delta Lake. The park includes camping zones, picnic areas, swimming beaches, and water access for boating and fishing.
The park was established in 1962 when the New York State Canal Corporation leased land to create a public recreation space near Rome. The lake itself was formed in 1908 through the damming of the Mohawk River.
The park hosts environmental education programs throughout the year, teaching visitors about local ecosystems and wildlife conservation through guided tours.
The park has 101 camping sites with shower facilities, restrooms, and dumping stations for extended stays. A visitor center and boat launch ramp help orient you and provide easy access to water activities.
Winter transforms the area into a destination for ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and skating on the frozen lake surface. The cold season draws a different kind of visitor who embraces snow and ice for outdoor fun.
