Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park, Historical state park in Greene County, Tennessee, United States.
Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park is a Tennessee state park in Greene County, set along the Nolichucky River. It features a reconstructed log cabin, a small museum, camping areas, picnic grounds, a swimming pool, riverside trails, and a boat launch.
David Crockett was born here in 1786, in a simple cabin on the banks of the Nolichucky River. He went on to serve in the United States Congress before dying at the Battle of the Alamo in Texas in 1836.
The log cabin on the grounds shows how a frontier family lived in the late 1700s, with simple furnishings and a layout that reflects daily life in rural Tennessee. The museum nearby displays personal objects and tools that bring that period closer to the visitor.
The park is open year-round and offers river access for boating, fishing, and swimming. Paths and facilities are well marked, making it easy to find your way around without any preparation.
The park stands at the spot where Big Limestone Creek meets the Nolichucky River, a place where Native American communities lived long before European settlers arrived. This gives the site a history that goes back much further than the famous name it carries today.
