Donaldson Mountain, Mountain summit in Adirondack Park, New York, US

Located in the Seward Range, Donaldson Mountain reaches an elevation of 4,140 feet and features large ledges at its peak with surrounding forest views.

Named after Alfred Lee Donaldson, author of A History of the Adirondacks, this mountain became the first Adirondack peak named during the twentieth century.

The mountain stands as the thirty-third highest peak among the Adirondack High Peaks, drawing hikers who aim to complete all forty-six summits.

Hikers access the summit through Corey's Road in Tupper Lake, following the Calkins Brook herd path for a challenging eight-mile round trip journey.

The mountain's dry microclimate requires visitors to carry their water supply, as natural water sources near the summit remain scarce throughout the year.
