Santanoni Peak, Mountain summit in Adirondack Park, New York, United States
Santanoni Peak rises to 4,607 feet elevation, marking the fourteenth highest point among the Adirondack High Peaks with dense forest coverage throughout its slopes.
French Canadian fur traders and missionaries named the peak after Saint Anthony in the early exploration period, establishing its current designation.
The mountain forms part of the Adirondack 46ers challenge, attracting numerous hikers who aim to climb all major peaks in the region.
Hikers access the summit via the Upper Works trailhead in Newcomb, following a 10-mile round trip route through marked paths and steep terrain.
The peak features a distinct microclimate with warmer and wetter conditions than surrounding mountains, supporting thick vegetation and specific wildlife populations.
