Downtown Cleveland

Downtown Cleveland is a central business district stretching along Lake Erie that contains modern skyscrapers, entertainment venues, and sports arenas. Connected districts feature public squares, shopping areas, and numerous dining options throughout.

Moses Cleaveland established Public Square in 1796 as the city's central point following the New England town square pattern. The area's transformation from a trading center into today's modern business hub shows how the city grew over two centuries.

Playhouse Square operates five restored theaters and forms one of the largest performing arts centers in the country. Broadway shows and local productions draw audiences from across the region to these restored venues.

The RTA light rail system connects all downtown districts, making it easy to move around on foot or by transit. Multiple parking garages and street parking options are available throughout the area if you arrive by car.

The Warehouse District features 19th-century buildings that once served as industrial storage and have been converted into modern residences and entertainment spaces. This transformation has given the neighborhood a new character and draws many visitors.
