AT&T Huron Road Building, Art Deco skyscraper in Cleveland, United States.
The AT&T Huron Road Building is a 22-story skyscraper in downtown Cleveland standing 365 feet (111 meters) tall. Its exterior is clad in Indiana limestone, giving it a distinctive pale appearance among the city's office towers.
The architectural firm Hubbell & Benes designed this building in 1927, and it held the title of Cleveland's tallest structure briefly. Its reign ended with the completion of the Terminal Tower, which surpassed it in height.
This building represents a time when telecommunications were symbols of progress and urban development. It shows how important fast communication became to Cleveland's economy in the early twentieth century.
The building is located in the heart of the business district and is easily accessible on foot from major transit hubs. It is best visited during daytime hours when you can see the limestone exterior clearly and observe the surrounding area properly.
The building housed advanced switching systems that could connect Cleveland residents to distant cities through telephone networks. This technological achievement made the structure far more significant than a typical office tower of its era.
