Progressive Field, Baseball stadium in downtown Cleveland, United States.
Progressive Field is a baseball stadium with exposed steel framework in downtown Cleveland. Seating spreads across multiple tiers, and the asymmetrical outfield fences follow the angles of the surrounding streets.
The stadium opened in 1994 as Jacobs Field, replacing the old Cleveland Stadium on the shore of Lake Erie. The name changed in 2008 when Progressive Corporation purchased the naming rights.
The left field section known locally as the Little Green Monster stands as a smaller echo of Boston's famous wall. Fans gather in nearby Heritage Park before games to celebrate Cleveland's baseball traditions.
The stadium sits within walking distance of several parking garages and public transit stops. Restaurants and family sections are located on different levels throughout the facility.
Between 1995 and 2001, 455 consecutive games sold out here, a Major League Baseball record. This run ended only when the stadium reduced its capacity.
