East Rock Park extends over 425 acres of land, featuring hiking trails, sport fields, and an observation point overlooking New Haven and Long Island Sound.
The park entered the National Register of Historic Places due to its six contributing buildings, one structure, and six objects from the late 19th century.
The Trowbridge Environmental Center within the park offers educational programs about local geology and ecosystems every Thursday and Friday throughout the year.
The automobile road remains accessible from April through November between 8 AM and sunset, while winter access occurs during weekends and holidays.
The Giant Steps Trail leads visitors to the summit through a near-vertical climb, offering a different perspective of the Connecticut landscape.
