Dyker Heights, Residential neighborhood in Brooklyn, United States
The neighborhood extends from Seventh to 14th Avenues and from Belt Parkway to 65th Street, featuring tree-lined streets with detached houses.
Walter Loveridge Johnson established Dyker Heights in 1895 by transforming woodland into a residential development on elevated terrain overlooking Gravesend Bay.
Italian-American families formed the core population throughout the twentieth century, with Asian residents increasing significantly since the 2000s.
The Dyker Heights Civic Association meets every second Tuesday at Saint Phillips Episcopal Church on 80th Street to address community matters.
Residents decorate their properties with large-scale light installations and decorations during December, drawing thousands of visitors to the neighborhood.

This collection gathers destinations that embody Christmas traditions around the world. It explores winter celebrations from the Arctic Circle to European historic centers, passing through major American cities. Each location offers its own interpretation of year-end festivities. The selection includes centuries-old markets such as Strasbourg's, which features three hundred chalets in the Alsatian capital, and Nuremberg's market with two hundred booths in the medieval old town. Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi welcomes visitors directly on the Arctic Circle, while New York showcases the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and the Santaland installation at Macy's. Christian landmarks like Bethlehem complete this collection, alongside Brooklyn residential neighborhoods transformed by December lights.
