East High School is a high school serving students in grades 6 through 12 across approximately 3 acres in Rochester. The building features brick walls, tall windows, and a historic main facade with Italian Renaissance elements from its original construction.
The school was founded in 1902 and relocated to its current location in 1959, where it was designed by architect J. Foster Warner. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and expanded to include a junior high division in 2002.
The school takes its name from its location on East Main Street and serves as a landmark in the neighborhood. Students from diverse backgrounds move through its hallways daily, creating a vibrant learning community that reflects Rochester's population.
