Fall Creek Falls

Fall Creek Falls is a 256-foot waterfall that drops steeply into a plunge pool shared with neighboring Coon Creek Falls. The gorge provides multiple viewing points and access routes connected by marked trails that lead from the upper plateau down to the base.

The area was home to Native American communities long before it became a state park in 1974. This transition from private land to protected park status marked a turning point in how the landscape has been managed and preserved.

The state park serves as a gathering place where visitors connect with nature and learn about the local plants and animals that live in the gorge. People of all ages walk the trails to witness the waterfall and explore the rocky landscapes.

Trails from the parking area are clearly marked with different routes for various fitness levels. Bring comfortable hiking shoes and plenty of water, as the paths can be steep in some sections.

This waterfall is the tallest of its type east of the Mississippi River, with water flowing over limestone shaped over millions of years. The geological formation tells a story of how water and rock have worked together to create the landscape.
