Mir-i-Arab madrasah, Islamic educational building in Bukhara, Uzbekistan
The Mir-i-Arab Madrasah exhibits traditional Central Asian architecture with two large blue domes, symmetrical arches, and geometric mosaic patterns across its walls.
Built between 1535 and 1536 during the Shaybanid dynasty, this madrasah was funded through military campaigns and remained operational throughout the Soviet period.
The madrasah continues its educational tradition by training future imams and religious scholars, maintaining its status as a center of Islamic learning.
Located in the Poi-Kalon complex next to Kalyan Mosque, the madrasah opens daily for visitors who can explore its courtyard and admire the architecture.
The building contains the tomb of Sheikh Abdullah Yamani from Yemen, who served as the spiritual guide for the Shaybanid rulers of Bukhara.
