Guaicaipuro

Guaicaipuro is an administrative region in Miranda State, located about 30 kilometers south of Caracas. Los Teques serves as the main town and administrative center of this municipality.

The area was originally home to indigenous peoples before Spanish conquistadors arrived and settled the region in the 16th century. In the early 20th century, Los Teques was declared the capital of Miranda State.

The region takes its name from an indigenous leader who lived here long before Spanish arrival. This historical name serves as a reminder of the original inhabitants who called this land home for generations.
