Guaicaipuro Municipality extends across 831.8 square kilometers of Venezuelan territory, with Los Teques serving as its administrative center.
The municipality received its name from Chief Guaicaipuro, who led indigenous resistance against Spanish colonizers in the Caracas Valley during the 16th century.
The region encompasses seven distinct parishes, including Los Teques, Altagracia de La Montaña, Cecilio Acosta, El Jarillo, Paracotos, San Pedro, and Tácata.
The Los Teques Metro system connects the municipality directly to Caracas, providing efficient transportation for its 280,687 residents.
On February 13, 1927, Los Teques replaced Petare as the capital of Miranda State, marking a significant shift in regional administration.
